Snowpark Kaunertal

Over 30 years ago, when the young trend sport of snowboarding arrived in Europe from America, the Kaunertal Glacier was one of the first ski resorts in Austria to welcome snowboarders. The first snowboarders on the glacier came from Australia and England and soon this colourful, lively scene with its rebelliousness became indispensable. One of the first halfpipes in the Alps was created on the glacier. Legendary events such as the Kaunertal Opening and the Springclassics also have their origins in the early days of snowboarding. After more than 30 years, these events now have cult status! A lot has happened since then. The Spring Classics still exist and the halfpipe from those days is now the well – known Kaunertal Snowpark
